Can you see this?

I've had a list of Halloween books that I've been meaning to get through.  The list grows ever longer year after year, which is a testament to both how much the Halloween season is now embraced, and also a detriment to my completionist tendencies.

Ever since I spotted the great cover on Pinterest, years ago, one of the books that I've been meaning to get to is Agatha Christie's 1969 Hercule Poirot mystery Hallowe'en Party.  I'm a slow reader... and I'm not gonna lie when I say that that book has been on my 'to-do' for about 15 years now.

So imagine my surprise and delight when a fellow Halloween addict revealed on IG that the new Poirot film A Haunting in Venice is the movie version of that same book!  Well that'll buy me some time!  Meaning-- I'll see the movie first... then eventually read the book, using the casting choices for the film in my visualization as I read.

SO--- in conclusion.  I am lazy and will see the movie first.  And though there's no Halloween in the title, this movie is the adaptation of the book and just one more Halloween-themed spooky-goodness to add to this year --or future year's-- movie marathons.

A Haunting in Venice opens in theaters in the U.S. on September 15th.

I now return you to your Halloween season, already in progress...
