I didn't watch the show religiously, but I was VERY familiar with the spookiness that is the opening of the Tales from the Darkside TV show and used that as inspiration.

Lastly: I recently had an experience where I bought the wrong color temperature light bulb. It still stings. I used that pain in the art. 😉
Bet you would make a good yule log type video if you did an hour or so video.
